Alane Adams

Alane Adams is a children and Young Adult author. She has written several children books and is the author of the Legends of Orkney series. Hamilton County Library hosted Alane Adams in three separate author events in November 2016. In the morning Alane talked to elementary aged students and read them some of her stories. During lunch she met with Jr. High and High School Students and explained some of the processes of writing a book. In the evening there was a time for adults to meet and ask Alane Adams questions about her books and being an author. During this same time, teens were able to play a game on their phones that was based off the Legends of Orkney Series. Both adults and children were able to pre-order her books. Alane also took time to sign and take pictures with those who attended her events. Her books can be found at Hamilton County Library or they can be purchased on Amazon.

Dan Meers

When KC Wolf has time off he dresses down as Dan Meers. Dan Meers is the author of the book Wolves Can’t Fly. In May of 2017 Hamilton County Library hosted Dan Meers for two events. He made a special trip to speak at Syracuse since the first scheduled date was cancelled due to snow. Speaking at the theater Dan gave a short explanation of what he does as a mascot before exhorting the audience in life lessons he has learned while being the mascot for the Kansas City Chiefs and believing in Jesus Christ. After speaking Dan signed autographs and took pictures with the people who attended. The next morning Dan went to Syracuse Elementary School where he amazed the kids as KC Wolf and helped share the importance of reading. He also read to them the book, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.
His book, Wolves Can’t Fly, tells about how he came to be KC Wolf, his accident, and the lessons that he has learned along the way.
