The library offers a variety of programs for children ages birth to 6th grade. There are several events and programs that run throughout the year.
This program is for ages Birth-5 years old and their caregivers. It takes place every Wednesday at 10 A.M. This time of Reading and Activities is sure to instill a love of creativity, and education, in caregivers and their children; while still having fun! Children and caregivers will enjoy each Story Time as they listen to books and sing songs. Plus each Story Time includes a fun activity like painting and coloring. The interactive activities correspond with the books and ensure children will develop a sense of creativity, imagination, and a love for learning that will serve them well in the future. Bored on a Friday? Not with Friday Program! Friday Programs offer a fun time for students who are in Elementary School (K-6th Grade.) Each Friday Program consist of reading a book(s), a various fun activity, a movie, and a great snack. Every Friday Program has a theme, such as, Super Heroes or LEGOs. The theme will be reflected throughout the program. Friday Programs run throughout the school year. Each program starts at 9:00 AM and ends at Noon on every second and fourth Friday of the month.
Summer Library Program
Worried that your brain is going to turn to mush during the summer? The Summer Library Program is here to help. Hamilton County Library offers a whole week of fun and learning each summer. Each summer program has a certain theme and has fun activities to keep your brain in shape. One week not enough? Hamilton County Library offers even more summer learning fun!
Summer Reading Program
Set a goal, read, and win prizes! For the Summer Reading Program, children will set a reading goal and have about two months to reach their goal. Students can choose to set three different kinds of goals. They can choose to set: a certain number of books to read, a certain amount of time spent reading, or an amount of pages to read. If they reach their goals they will win cool prizes when the Summer Reading Program ends.
A fun break to your summer is Movie Mondays. Elementary aged children can come and watch a movie at the library.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten Initiative
The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Initiative is a great and fun way to start your child on the bright path of education. With no set start date, you can join this great program at any time! The Goal is simple, read a thousand books to your child before they enter kindergarten.
